WE CAN DELIVER A CONSTITUTION THAT STRENGTHENS OUR DEMOCRACY AND DEEPEN INCLUSION~Deputy Speaker-Kalu
As part of the ongoing activities of the Constitution Review process, the House Committee on Constitution Review today engaged with the National Chairmen, National Secretaries, and National Women Leaders of Nigeria’s registered political parties in Abuja.
This consultative session focused on key constitutional amendment issues, including Special Seats for Women, Judicial and Electoral Reforms, Local Government Reforms, State Policing, Human Rights, and Justice.

In the opening remarks the Deputy Speaker of the National House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, he emphasized the need for stakeholders and party leaders to actively participate in every step of this process. These reforms are not partisan issues, but Nigerian issues that demand our collective commitment, he said.
“I urged all participants to engage with the proposed amendments, study the bills critically, and bring forward your concerns and constructive suggestions.”

“The task before us is enormous, but with unity of purpose and collective action, we can deliver a Constitution that strengthens our democracy, deepens inclusion, and secures a better future for all Nigerians.”
