ASABA, OSHIMILI SOUTH — APRIL 19, 2026
Hon. Kelvin Chukwudum Nwabueze has declared for the Oshimili South Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly.

The two-term councillor made the declaration Sunday, April 19, during a consultative meeting with the APC Local Government Executive Committee at the Oshimili South party secretariat. The meeting was chaired by APC LGA Chairman, Dada Okolo.

Nwabueze said his bid is anchored on experience and a political climate now “more inclusive for young people.”

“I’m a two-term councillor and I have done well. Looking at Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is youth-friendly, it is clear younger people can contribute meaningfully to governance,” he told stakeholders.

He pledged to bridge citizens and government with quarterly press briefings and town hall meetings for youths, indigenes, and non-indigenes. “We have a governor who listens, but he cannot be everywhere. Representatives must take the people’s problems to him,” Nwabueze said.

He cited poor communication of government policies as a major gap, adding that his grassroots ties would help residents understand reforms.

On his record, Nwabueze listed two bills, over 10 motions, and personal interventions in education, healthcare, and electricity, including funding more than 10 auxiliary teachers.

“My salary is minimal, but it’s about willingness to help,” he said.

The declaration drew supporters from Asaba, Oko, Okwe, and non-indigene groups. Nwabueze said his accessibility sets him apart: “I am their friend and I listen.”
