UKWUOBA/OGWASHI-UKU — APRIL-19 , 2026
The Member representing Aniocha South State Constituency, Hon. Dr. Isaac Ozo Anwuzia, PhD, has commissioned renovated school blocks at Igwe Primary School, Ukwuoba and Nnabuwa Primary School, Ogwashi-Uku.
The renovation works include new furniture and modern toilet facilities aimed at improving learning conditions and ending open defecation in both schools.
Commissioning the projects on Monday, Hon. Anwuzia said more schools across the constituency would benefit from similar interventions. He urged host communities to take ownership and protect the facilities from vandalism.
The event drew key stakeholders from across Aniocha South. Responding, Chief Edwin Uzor, Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building, commended the lawmaker for prioritising education, describing it as “a foundation for peace and development.”
The Obi of Ukwuoba, HRM Obi Cletus Ochei( Akufesie) thanked Hon. Anwuzia for the intervention, noting that the facelift would boost enrollment and teacher morale.
Representing the Ogwashi-Uku Palace, Secretary to the Palace, Prince Ifeakanachukwu Emordi, conveyed the monarch’s appreciation and pledged community support to safeguard the projects.
Speaking, the Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, lauded the initiative. Hon. Ufoh said the state government remains committed to upgrading technical and basic education infrastructure across Delta State.
Also speaking, were the President General of Ukwuoba Community and the President General of Ogwashi UKU Youths Association. They gave glowing tribute to the Aniocha South Representative in the Delta State House of Assembly, describing him as a silent achiever with a deep commitment to the development of he communities.
Pupils, teachers, and parents in both communities turned out in their numbers to witness the handover.
