Hon. Collins Iwebunor, Executive Director of ICT at the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, following his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Delta North ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Iwebunor, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to the former governor, described the victory as a “landmark political triumph” and a reflection of Okowa’s enduring influence and leadership across Delta North.

According to him, the outcome of the primary election demonstrates the confidence party delegates and stakeholders continue to place in Okowa’s political experience, grassroots connection, and record of public service.

The APC primary saw Okowa emerge victorious over the incumbent senator, securing the party’s ticket to contest for the Delta North Senatorial seat in the 2027 National Assembly elections.

In his congratulatory message, Iwebunor praised the former governor for what he termed “a remarkable comeback,” expressing optimism that Okowa’s candidacy would further strengthen the APC’s fortunes in Delta North.

He also commended party members for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent primary process, urging supporters across the district to unite ahead of the general elections.

Political observers say the development is expected to reshape the political landscape in Delta North as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 polls.
