DANGOTE REFINERY SHARE OFFER SIGNALS CONFIDENCE IN NIGERIA’S INDUSTRIAL FUTURE

ABUJA — The public share offering by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery has been described as a major milestone for Nigeria’s industrial sector and capital market.
Economist and Investment and Transaction Adviser, Dr. O’Diakpo Obire, says the offering signals growing confidence in Nigeria’s industrial capacity and its potential to attract and mobilise domestic investment.
Dr. Obire describes the offer as Africa’s largest-ever public share offering, saying its significance goes beyond the Dangote Group.
He says the development demonstrates that Nigerian businesses can raise substantial capital through the domestic capital market to finance large-scale industrial projects.
The economist also says the share offering creates an opportunity for ordinary Nigerians to acquire direct ownership in one of the country’s most significant industrial investments.
According to him, the development could strengthen the connection between Nigeria’s capital market and the financing of major industrial projects, while deepening domestic participation in wealth creation.
Dr. Obire commended Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Dangote Industries team, describing the refinery and the share offering as important milestones in Nigeria’s industrial development.
He says the development represents a significant moment for domestic investment and could contribute to the broader evolution of Nigeria’s industrial economy.
